Thanks to the performance in a win over Michigan last Friday, Georgia moved past
Florida, which held the No. 1 ranking for the last eight weeks.
The Gym Dogs defeated Michigan with a score of 197.875 for the second-highest total in the country this year. Georgia owns the highest mark of 198.0 from a win over Alabama.
Also, Georgia's Katie Heenan and Tiffany Tolnay remain the nation¹s top two gymnasts in the individual all-around rankings. There are looking to become the first pair of Georgia gymnasts to finish 1-2 in the national all-around rankings since Kim Arnold and Karin Lichey in 1998.
Courtney Kupets remains No. 1 in the national beam rankings as well as No. 2 on the uneven bars. Grace Taylor is tied for seventh on the uneven bars.
Georgia's next competition will be the SEC Championships on March 31 in Little Rock, Ark.
