Lots of fun on tonight’s call-in show, following Georgia’s thrilling 42-30 win over Florida in Jacksonville on Saturday. Homecoming against a dangerous Troy team looms on Saturday. Interestingly, Coach Richt’s own personal celebration with wife (and head water girl) Katharyn got as much attention as the team celebration – which has been the talk of college football the last two days. I’ll give it a PG-13 rating (barely).

Saturday’s football was rocking and rolling. Munson noted big name teams that lost. Georgia’s performance Saturday was worth the trip .. or would have been if he had. Munson said he knew a few other folks who also didn’t.

Munson told Richt the NCAA would probably have a special meeting sometime in January, just because of Richt. Richt said his vision was to have 11 guys celebrating. The guys probably just misunderstood. The goal was to generate some enthusiam. He wanted the guys on the field to celebrate hard enough, probably to draw a foul. CMR is thankful no one got hurt and thankful for the victory.

Network TV also gave us something to think. Munson said that long kiss between CMR and his wife tore his movie group up. It looked like they were trying to teach Hollywood how to play smackey-mouth. CMR: The first one was on him, but she came back on the second one.

Jeremy in Memphis got to follow that by being the first call. It’s so good to beat the Florida Gators. He’s been waiting for us to blitz six or seven guys and was glad we really took it to Tebow. Also, we started out strong. It’s hard to get up for 12 games, but we have four games left and can hopefully get off to a strong start in all of them.

CMR isn’t sure we blitzed any more than in other games. A lot of our blitzes were still five man blitzes with zone behind it. There was a good mix of blitzes with zone behind it and with man behind it. CMR thought Martinez called a tremendous game.

We need to get up and get excited for every game. CMR will be working on his part to get the guys ready and the assistants on theirs. He also wants to encourage the Bulldog Nation to be out for the Dawg Walk and be in the stadium for the opening kickoff. Our fans at the Georgia-Florida game were great; we could see them on the bus ride in. It was like a mini-Dawg Walk. CMR wants our players to feel it the next three games.

Clay in Guyton thought the celebration in the end zone was awesome! Moreno is a man-child and hopefully we can keep him all four years. CBS mentioned that Munson was gonna go fishing – did he? Also, Clay noticed that big wet one .. how was it? Munson said he did not go fishing but stayed home and watched it. Richt said again the first part of the long kiss was his and the second part was Katharyn getting back.

Joe in Tampa thinks we took Florida’s edge away. Every time they came back we answered them again. Does CMR know UGA hasn’t beaten Florida and Auburn in the same year since 1982? CMR will make a note of that.

About the psychology – CMR said our attitude was here’s how we’re going to win the game. We had to have the right amount of energy and excitement and we were going to celebrate hard at the right time. As it turned out it got our players excited about the opportunity to let it loose and play with their hearts.

William in Chattanooga wanted to congratulate the whole team and staff on the win. He also loved #77’s dance. CMR said the guys were giving him a hard time since they didn’t think it was that good of a dance. Right now we’ve got to focus on the next one. Troy is 6-2 and is leading their conference, beat the heck out of Okie St., scored over 30 against Florida and 26 or so against Arkansas. We need everyone to get out there early and get jacked up.

Jerry in Millersville thinks the OL deserves lots of praise. CMR agrees. They’re getting better and better. They’re not freshmen anymore. They’re still a bit skinny for an SEC OL.

Lance in Uvalda thought the celebration in the end zone was spectacular. He had asked last week how we’d get the team fired up. Also, Moreno runs like a wild man. CMR said it was lots of fun. Moreno is running great right now. We need to be careful but make sure he gets plenty of work. And that leap into the stands was pretty good. Bobo tried to do that the year he was QB and we beat Florida and he could barely reach his hand up and the fans had to pull him up. His vertical leap wasn’t quite Moreno’s.

David in Cairo (mispronounced by Munson, btw) is happy so long as we beat Florida, no matter if we lose every other game. How does CMR feel about the SEC East? CMR isn’t really concerned about it this week since we don’t play an SEC game. It’s fun to think about what could be, but sometimes if you spend too much time doing that you’re not ready for the task at hand. When it comes to Saturday we’ve all got to be ready because it will be a heck of a ballgame.

Tim in Bonaire asked if we picked up the direct snap idea from Florida? He also wanted CMR to wish his son Noah a Happy Birthday (he turned 11 not long ago).

CMR said we’d been working on the direct snap. Teams have been using that awhile. We worked on it during the open date. Watching all the Tebow film did help inspire us to get those numbers in the running game.

Curt in Monroe wonders who will help Moreno out? What about the RB from Dodge Co., Kalvin Daniels? CMR said Jason Johnson is the guy right now and wouldn’t doubt if Kalvin got some carries.

Greg in Mud Creek about the awesome pass from Stafford to MoMass, and about Marcus Howard being around most every big defensive play. CMR said he thought there was no way MoMass would get to that but he showed his speed and made an awesome catch. CMR said Howard practices and plays hard, and is glad Howard is having a great senior year.

Barron in Athens said he did his own celebration thing at home. What about playing Caleb King or not? Was CMR sure about it? CMR said by the time they came out of the locker room they would do all they could to keep his redshirt. They had a feeling Moreno could handle a lot of carries, it was a cool day, and there are lots of TV timeouts nowasays.

Kathy in Buford (daughter is a Redcoat) thanks CMR for his example both on the players and the band. His stopping by to thank the band after every game means a lot to the band. That kiss at the end was A-OK.

CMR noted even in pregame warm-ups that every time the Florida band would strike up a tune the Redcoats would drown them out. In fact, he was thanking the band and working down the field when he stopped, gave the water girl (Katharyn) a kiss, then she mauled him. Munson busted out laughing at this point, asked Richt if he blushed and said she certainly did.

Joe in Maysville thanks CMR for that example, and thinks a lot of Katharyn giving of her time to help out. How’s her health? Also, anything said between you & Coach Meyer?

Richt said his wife is doing well. When the managers and trainers go several hours before the games to set up, she goes with them. Richt & Meyer just shook hands, said good game and good luck next week.

Troy in Evans wonders if the win Saturday changes any attitudes about the game being in Jax. Also, the call was a stroke of genius. Did the open date help? CMR said there is no doubt the open date helped. That’s the case anytime. As for Jax .. right now, he loves Jax.

Matthew in Braselton asked about CMR having more time to spend with the QBs? CMR said he could but he doesn’t. He understands how important a relationship between a player and coach is. He understands it is important not to have too many people saying things.

Austin in Blackshear is glad to not have to put with the gator fans this year and was glad to see the fire in Richt’s eyes Saturday.

Chris in Augusta wonders if CMR has asked Damon to get our bye week before Jax every year? Also, what about Jarius Wynn being moved to DE. CMR says the SEC has a lot to do with it and those schedules are now made a ways in advance. Next year they have an open date and we play LSU. That’ll be fun. (sarcastically)

Wynn moved to DE. We just thought he was too good to not be getting more playing time. He has a bit more to learn but he’s getting after it and making plays. He’ll play much faster when he gets comfortable with the assignments.

Steve in Macon wonders if Jax is truly a neutral site. Also, great catch by MoMass – key play that really messed with Florida’s head. What is CMR remedy for the occasional dropsies. CMR said he’s been through the neutral site. He’s just thankful we took care of business. The throw was beautiful but CMR thought it might be overthrown. On drops, sometimes the offense does up/downs and the guy gets 25 catches with the JUGS machine.

Steve in Alpharetta said his son is a big CMR fan even though he is a died-blue gator fan. He minded a lot losing to LSU but not this one because of the class CMR always shows. All rival games are more fun when its evenly matched in who wins. The Auburn game is only four games and maybe 10-15 points apart. The Florida thing has been a streaky thing, even if you go back to the beginning of it.

David in Grayson spent time thanking CMR for the big win (and ran out the show time). Munson wants to be sure no one stumbles or lays the ball on the ground. CMR is glad Munson will be back working this weekend.
