It’s Wreck Tech week! Tonight’s show preceeds the Tech game on Saturday (3:30 ABC) and follows Georgia’s 24-13 win over Kentucky last Saturday. UGA still needs a Tennessee loss to win the SEC East and get a shot at LSU in the SEC Championship Game. Vandy almost got the job done on Saturday, but could not hold a 24-9 lead at the start of the 4th quarter, then had a 49 yard FG attempt hit the post in the final minute. Tennessee won 25-24 and now faces Kentucky in Lexington on Saturday (1:30 CBS).

Munson – college football almost knocked a lot of people out of the trees again. TT knocked Oklahoma out of the national title chase, Tech had to kick a FG in the last minute to beat UNC and Alabama lost to La.-Monroe, of all people.

Some of the other stunners had BC over Clemson, Kansas needing to score 49 to beat Iowa St., and the one that had our attention was Vandy blowing a big lead against Tennessee. Vandy missed a FG in the last minute after Tenn. had just hit one to go in front.

Munson’s question to CMR – UK was a tall, rangy team, especially in the secondary. CMR: we never separated from them on our deep balls. We tried on more than one occasion but it never worked out. It probably worked out that we had to run the ball and be more methodical, since it kept their offense on the sidelines.

Eddie in Acworth said even if we went 2-10, the ones we’d want would be Fla. & the hated Jackets. We finally slipped up and had a bad half, the first half vs. UK. Very impressive how we righted the ship. What did CMR say to the OL and is Sturdivant OK? CMR forgot what he said before the last drive of the half – basically, time to get it going. Trinton will be fine. He finished the game. No full contact work tomorrow but he was able to run around tonight. No live inside drills.

Bert in Roswell hopes we’ll be able to hear Munson call games again next year .. nice to see the team celebrate after the game and Richt mugging with the water girl again. Injuries and intermediate passing game?

CMR – Mikey is fine and we’re pretty healthy. If UK were to win Saturday, Lump could play in SECCG and will play in a bowl. Deep ball just wasn’t there. We had a few good short passes in the game. But we need to get the deep ball going again and be a little better protecting and better pitching and catching.

Jerry in Macon talked about the buzz with the kids with the recent “changes” at UGA. What if we got more commitments than slots? CMR said we had that problem now – more kids that want to come than slots open. We’re just about packed and finished up. There could be some things that happened. Not only do you have a 25 number, but also an 85 number to be concerned with.

Kevin in Athens – will we let Moreno run more? And even if Tenn. wins and goes to SECCG, will we practice more?

CMR would like to keep Moreno around 20-25 carries. Of course Brown also had 22 carries. That’s a bit high but we needed to control the ball more with the running game. If we don’t make the SECCG we’ll stop practices except for maybe one or two prior to bowl practices.

Mitchell in Jacksonville commented on something Spencer Tillman of CBS said .. complemented CMR & Urban Meyer as coaches really able to relate to their players. How does CMR do it? CMR: let them know you care about them. If they don’t believe you care, it’s hard to get them to do anything. One thing you show you care is to give them boundaries and expectations. We have to have some discipline. If you mess up, we care enough to get you back in line. If you do discipline, it’s a sign that says you care. You’ve got to watch and listen, and pick your shots to see if you can do something different from the routine. Sometimes it’s a small thing .. different meal, or break from conditioning if they do well academically. If you see something brewing, nip it in the bud.

Bob in Covington thought the recognition Munson received was well deserved and liked CMR in all black again. We’re getting to lose one of our best kickers in awhile. CMR – in house – Bo Stancil could be the kickoff man, Mimbs and Butler have done it but they’re our punters. We are recruiting a kicker.

Joe in Tampa Bay says its great to see the guys having so much fun. Shockley set the example for what it means to be a team player and it has carried on. He noticed the RBs – no matter who makes a play the others are there to celebrate. Could the water girl be coerced into joining CMR on one of the radio shows next year? CMR thinks that would be a great idea. CMR talked a lot about the team and especially Mitchell Pittman getting into a game earlier in the year. Everyone was jacked up about that. Athens TD Club – he brought Sean Bailey and Brandon Miller. Miller said he greatest thrill at UGA was watching Pittman get his first tackle.

Scott in Cape Coral, FL thanked CMR for a letter to his brother, who is in the hospital with cancer.

Richard in Augusta thanked CMR for doing a great job and reminded CMR the biggest game of the year comes up this Saturday. He also mentioned a recruit in the Augusta area. CMR said every school in the state gets looked at by an assistant coach. Since we’re just about filled for this year, we’ll work hard on the guys who have committed to us. There is also time to look at younger players.

Brett in Athens (on cell phone) asked about all the “drastic” changes lately – the celebration and the black jerseys. What will we do for Tech? These changes have totally changed this entire season. CMR: Let’s buy up as many tickets as we possibly can. Get as much red & black in that stadium as we possibly can. When you’ve got your band and enough fans to make a difference. Maybe he can get the word out when the buses get there and have a mini-Dawg Walk.

Heath in Cochran asked about guys on the scout team. W. Hill, Troupe, Charles White, Aron White, Logan Gray, King was showing great signs before pulling a hamstring. There’s not one here we wish we hadn’t brought in. The key is how they’re going to separate themselves from the rest of the guys. We’re going to be fortunate to have a lot of competition. If we can keep it up where guys like to celebrate together, we could have something special.

Craig in Swainsboro – who steps in to replace Adams & Velasco? CMR: Vince Vance came in when Sturdivant got hurt, he’ll have an opportunity. Not sure who’ll be the center. C. Davis, Harden, Justin Anderson, Chris Little started out at 381 and is now 330. He’s done a great job getting in shape. Perez has been working at center too.

Ian in Atlanta said thanks for showing the rest of the country you can have a world class competitive organization and still maintain character. On UK’s long TD, a DB made a great break toward the WR but never looked back to the ball. CMR – UK had a good play called and had too much time. They had a guy on the hash who broke into the middle, and they went to a WR on the outside. Once the ball got thrown to the outside WR, Kelin Johnson broke and ran for the receiver. Once you’re beat, the thing is to try and get there right when the ball gets there and rake it out.

Monk in Abbeville, SC – more compliments. CMR: these guys came to win an SEC title and hopefully also a national championship.

Ricky in Las Vegas (retired Navy, followed the Dawgs all around the world) thrilled to be calling in! He remembers meeting Munson at a VFW about 10 years ago in Conyers. Munson asked what he did for entertainment in Vegas .. he plays some Texas Hold ‘Em, internet, shows, etc.

Scott in Grayson hopes the guys are being reminded Tech is the team we have to beat. They have lots of disdain for us and it would make their season to ruin ours. How does the schedule work over Thanksgiving. Tech does all they can to keep UGA fans out by different ticket packages.

CMR – tomorrow will be normal Tuesday practice. We will have a Thanksgiving meal that the AA puts on. Wed – earlier than usual. Thanksgiving Day – early practice then allow players to get home or at least with a teammate or coach’s family. Friday – this is only Friday we practice to run the turkey off. Then we hop on buses and visit some childrens’ hospitals, then get back into our pre-game routine.

Mark in Snellville wants to make sure Munson won’t be fishing during Tech game. (He won’t be.) He also thought Johnson almost made it to that UK receiver on the long TD pass. CMR agreed.

Donnie in Waycross asked about WRs. CMR said we have four senior WRs this year and three more next year. That’s why we’re bringing more in. They also understand they have to be blockers in our system for everyone to be successful.

Tyler thanked Munson for all his years of great play by play and wants CMR to compare Moreno to Herschel. CMR: Herschel was so different than anyone else. He was so big, fast, powerful and tough We were showing clips of him not long ago to show his toughness (particularly the ND game). Also, running track. Moreno is exciting, but not sure you can compare him to Herschel yet.

Tech is always very, very hard. CMR says it will be a slobber-knocker.
