From GeorgiaDogs.com: FSN South to Feature Seven Hours of UGA Programming on Dawg Day Saturday Presented by McDonald’s

No. 2 Georgia vs. Central Michigan Kicks off LIVE in HD at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 6 on FSN South

Live, High-Definition coverage of the University of Georgia’s football game against Central Michigan University anchors a seven-hour package of Dawg Day Saturday football programming on Saturday, September 6 on FSN South. The entire block of Georgia Bulldog programming is presented by McDonald’s.

FSN South play-by-play announcer Bob Rathbun and analyst Dave Rowe, along with sideline reporters Jenn Hildreth and James Verrett, have the game call at 3:30 p.m. ET. FSN South’s coverage of the Georgia vs. Central Michigan match-up will include a one-hour, high-definition pre-game show hosted by Tom Werme live from Sanford Stadium on the University of Georgia campus. The New Avenues Dawg Day Saturday Pregame Show begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on FSN South.

“Celebrating the Bulldogs’ pre-season No. 1 ranking, FSN South will give University of Georgia fans a day devoted to their favorite team, coach and – yes, even mascot – on Dawg Day Saturday,” said Jeff Genthner, senior vice president and general manager of FSN South and SportSouth. “In partnership with Sun Sports serving Florida and FSN Southwest serving Arkansas and Louisiana, FSN South will deliver the Central Michigan at Georgia game to more than 21 million cable and satellite television homes LIVE and in HD across every state of the SEC territory.”

“We’re looking forward to seeing a total Georgia Day on FSN on September 6,” said Damon Evans, University of Georgia athletics director. “It’s obvious they have put a lot of time and energy into their Georgia programming on this day. It’s a rare opportunity for us to have a game televised on FSN, and we’re excited they are bringing Georgia football to all the FSN viewers.”

In addition to the live, high-definition pre-game show and game telecast, Dawg Day Saturday features more than two hours of original shows spotlighting the University of Georgia football program including the debut of At Home with Mark Richt. A 30-minute interview special, At Home with Mark Richt includes interviews with Richt, his wife and their children and showcases Richt’s life off the football field. See below for the complete Dawg Day Saturday schedule on FSN South.

FSN South put unprecedented marketing support behind its Dawg Day Saturday programming initiative including a full schedule of advertising spots during the 17 days of the 2008 Olympic Games. On-air marketing efforts were launched in early August to coincide with the debuts of FSN South and SportSouth’s SEC college football preview shows and to capitalize on Georgia’s No. 1 national ranking.

The high-definition game telecast of the University of Georgia vs. Central Michigan University will be available to all cable and satellite service providers in the FSN South viewing area (AL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, and TN). The game will also be televised throughout the state of Florida on Sun Sports and in Arkansas and Louisiana on FSN Southwest. Viewers should check their local listings for channel information.

FSN South, the nation’s largest regional sports network, reaches more than 12 million cable and satellite homes in seven states in the Southeast, and SportSouth reaches more than nine million cable and satellite homes across a six-state region. Through its Affiliates and other Fox Networks Group-owned networks, FSN reaches more than 70 million homes through 16 owned-and-operated networks. Headquartered in Los Angeles, FSN serves as the television home to more than half of all MLB, NHL and NBA teams based in the United States and produces close to 5,000 live local events each year, including more than 1,600 in high definition.
